Queen Scout Awards
The 2009 Scottish National Scout Awards Presentation Ceremony was held in The Cathedral Church of St. Andrew, Inverness.
Five members of the 32nd North Face Explorer Unit were presented with the Queen Scout’s Award, the top award and the culmination of everything you can achieve in Scouting. The five young people receiving the award were –
Martin Hier, Christopher McDermott, Brendan Mearns, Mark Sinnamon and Jonathan Webb.
The Service was conducted by the Right Rev Mark Strange, Anglican Bishop of Moray and the Highlands who also presented the Awards.
As part of the Service, Christopher was a colour bearer and Mark did two readings
All five are now members of the Network and Jonny holds an ASL appointment with the 80th Greenock and District.
To witness the Presentations, District Commissioner David McCallum, his wife Carol, who is Group Scout Leader of the 32nd Greenock and District Scouts and the proud families travelled to Inverness to share in the enjoyment and experience of the day.
