The 6th Greenock and District (1st Gourock) Centenary

!stGourock_1108.JPGThe 6th Greenock and District (1st Gourock) are looking forward to celebrating their Centenary year in 2009.

On Sunday 23rd November 2008 and as a build up to their celebrations, they attended the Morning Service at Old Gourock and Ashton Church where former Chief Scout Sir Garth Morrison KT.CBE. DL, now Hon President of the Scottish Scout Association, presented them with new Colours.

He formally received the old Colours before presenting the new Colours. The Colours have been gifted to the Group by John Hawthorne in recognition of his retiral as a Scottish scout Commissioner.

The old Colours were presented to the Group in 1958.
Representatives of other Groups in the District were present at the Service.
