10th:- Activities and News – Year 2008
During the summer 4 members of the group took part in the International Patrol Jamborette at Blair Atholl, Perthshire.
3 Explorers and 1 Scout teamed up with 2 scouts from 80th & 85th Troops and headed off to Blair Atholl for 10 days of exciting activities.
They were allocated to Robertson Sub Camp along with a patrol from Georgia, USA, some of whom came back to Gourock for some home hospitality for a few days.

Also during the summer Assistant Cub Leader Joanne was married to Craig Lindsay on 26th July, and some of the Group turned out at Westburn Church to form a Guard of Honour for them after they were married.

‘10th Greenock & District had a visitor during the summer from an ex-member of the Beaver Colony – Sean Mooney. Sean moved to Dubai with his family last year, and joined the Beavers over there. Sean recently moved up to Cubs and is seen in the pictures being invested into 3rd Dubai Scorpion Pack, and is also pictured with the other Cubs from his pack on the ship. He made his promise as a Cub in an unusual place – on a Royal Navy Ship - HMS Montrose! Sean and his brother Adam keep in contact with the group and regularly send cards & e-mails back to the group. Sean and Adam had a great time back in Gourock for the summer and actually looked forward to the rain and cold weather!!
