Group Camp fun for 85th
The 85th had their Group Camp this weekend with Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers all having a great time together. They enjoyed the slimy slide, Jacob’s ladder and car tug o’ war along with a load of other activities. The Scouts had rabbit stew on the menu which was just the thing after enduring the river run!
Thanks to all leaders, parent helpers and volunteers who made the weekend such a resounding success.
32nd climb up to healthier living
Beaver Scouts from both the 32nd Wednesday and Thursday Colonies, who meet at St Patrick’s primary, were fit as fleas last week when they participated in a healthy eating fruit kebab session and took part in a climbing activity. The young people enjoyed munching their way through kilos of fruit and learning the ropes of climbing. Two great evenings were had by all.
Monopoly in Kilmacolm
Kilmacolm Scouts had fun with a game of Kilmacolm Monopoly recently. They gained points for photos taken at various places in the village. Harder-to-get-to places were worth more points. It was a fun challenge of team work and planning within the time constraint.
Radio Club visits the 59th for badge work
Members of the District Radio Club went along to 59th G & D Cubs with some amateur radio equipment to assist them with their Communication badge. The cubs had a great time with the different aspects of the badge including learning the phonetic alphabet, sending and receiving Morse Code and sending a greetings message by radio to another operator in Helensburgh. Well done to all the cubs for all their hard work.
