10th Renfrew & Inverclyde

The 10th Scouts were formed in 1912 and met in the Collegiate School, Greenock The Scout Leader was Mr Tatton-Tatton.

Little is known about these early years of the Troop however records show that in 1930 the Troop met in the North Church Hall and the Cubs met in Vennal Hall.

By the early 1950′s the Group met in the Martyrs And North Church in Westburn Street Greenock. In 1957 it is recorded the Scout Leader was Jimmy McKerrigan.

The Group closed in the early 1960′s

We Would like to hear from any former members who have information or photographs.

Note:- To avoid any confusion, the original 10th Group, as said above, was based in Greenock.

After it’s demise and in 1971, the 10th Renfrewshire number was allocated to a new¬† Group being started in Gourock. The Gourock Group¬† has prospered and is firmly established.
