Greenock Gang Show – 2008
Greenock and District Scouts ‘Meet the Gang 2008’ has completed its run. For the full week, every show was a sell out and applauded by many people as the best show to date and better than many of other Gang Shows.
At some of the performances, a number of invited guests were present. These included the Scottish Scout Commissioner Mrs Eleanor Lyall and her Assistant Commissioners, The Lord Lieutenant of Renfrewshire Mr Guy Clark accompanied by his wife, The Provost of Inverclyde Mr Michael McCormick, representatives of the Girl Guides and Boy’s Brigade, and members of kindred Gang Shows including Whitley Bay and Dundee.
All were lavish in their praise particularly to the performances of so many young Cubs and Scouts. In a town which is so often misaligned. They are a credit to Inverclyde and demonstrate the true character of the youth in Greenock and the surrounding area.
On the conclusion of the final performance, our District Commissioner (David McCallum) congratulated the cast and recognised the many hours of work put in behind the scenes by the Production Team, Stage Crew, Wardroom Team, Business Team and the Musicians. All contributed to the success of the Show.
