Colin Finnie Album 1968

That keen ‘Photographer’ Colin Finnie, a much respected member of the movement compiled this Photo Album as a present to Jim Swan. The Photographs were taken in 1968 and mainly records an evening at the Manor Park Hotel, at the Lorne and the Chief Scout (Sir Charles McLean) visit to Erskine.

As you will see from the clipping below, Colin’s grandaugher (Isabel) has given us a newspaper article of her and Colin with a large Kudo Horn. The occasion was the presentation of the horn to Jim Swan on behalf of the Scouts.

Does anyone have an idea of it’s current whereabouts ?

How wonderful to find your site and see photographs of my Grandfather, Colin
Finnie in the gallery. My Great grandfather and father – all Colin’s were
very involved with the scouts and I was privilidged to be able to bring a
Kudu horn over to scotland with my grandfather in 1969 from the scouts in
Rhodesia. I still have my dads scouting badges. Thank you for some
wonderful memories and may your scouting troops continue to grow

Further to her comment, Isabel has kindly provided me with a few press cuttings which I have added to the Photo Album.

The one above dated November 1969, shows Colin & Isabel with a Kudo Horn. The article relates that the horn was presented to Jim Swan on behalf of the Scout Movement.

With the passage of time – does anyone know of this current location of the Kudu Horn ?
