In early June and after a period of seven years, David McCallum stepped down as District Commissioner.
The search is now underway to find a new District Commissioner to lead Greenock and District Scouts.
A search group has been established to recommend possible candidates to replace David. This group will be chaired by Peter Bennett and will include at least one member of the current District Team and two young people under 25 years of age. As well as the search group, nominations and applications for the DC role will be accepted until 14 July.
Interviews for the DC appointment will be held in July and August and it is hoped to make an announcement of the name of the new DC at the Regional AGM on 1 September 2013 at the latest.
In the interim period, Graeme Kinnear, Regional Commissioner will act as DC with Scottish Chief Commissioner Graham Haddock acting as Deputy DC to support Mr Kinnear and, if necessary, the new DC when appointed.
